All funds raised support the construction and administration of our green built campus, the Centro Educativo Técnico Chixot, in San Juan Comalapa, Guatemala. At our school we offer modern science based education to 150 students in grades to K-11. We employ 40 Comalapans in our construction crew and school staff. Due to the lack of a formal waste management system in Comalapa trash is either burned or thrown into a ravine that pollutes a major watershed. To date, we have repurposed over 440 tons of waste into the construction of 12 classrooms, an administration building, a four-stall composting latrine, terraced tire retaining walls, a computer lab/library. All buildings have rainwater harvesting capacity to fill 46,500 gallons of water storage.
Gifts of all sizes make an impact. We pledge to keep administrative costs low so that more of your money goes directly into education, construction materials and local salaries. Thank you for your confidence. With your help we are closer to realizing our vision - communities equipped to innovate and act responsibly in the face of local and global challenges!
Our students at the Centro Educativo Técnico Chixot are forming a new generation of entrepreneurs, uniquely equipped to lead their communities' into a just and healthy future.
We are grateful for your support! Thank you!
